  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup boiled ground nuts(peanuts)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chat masala
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp amchoor powder
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp honey



  • Peel the skin of the cucumber and carrots. Chop them into small quarter inch pieces.
  • Wash apple and chop just before making salad to avoid oxidation and discoloration.
  • Boil groundnuts in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles until soft.
  • Drain the water and keep boiled peanuts ready.

Recipe for making the salad:

  • In a large mixing bowl, add chopped cucumber, carrots, and apple pieces.
  • Add boiled peanuts with the vegetables and apple.
  • Put the spices like salt, chat masala, pepper powder a pinch and amchoor powder if using.
  • Squeeze half a lemon into the salad.
  • Also, add a tbsp of honey and mix everything.
  • Toss gently to combine all the ingredients.
  • Serve immediately when the veggies are still fresh.


Tips: 1) Adding chat masala and amchoor powder gives a nice chat touch to the salad. You can avoid if you like the salad plain. 2) Furthermore, the lemon juice, honey and pinch of pepper powder give an excellent combination of taste to the salad. 3) As Apple has lots of fiber, it is a good choice to add in the salad. You can use a green apple or pear fruit or raw mango in place of the red apple. 4) If you like pure vegetable salad don't add apple.
