Omapodi is a tasty and simple south Indian savory snacks variety prepared by deep frying besan flour (chickpea/gram flour/kadalai maavu) with chilli powder, salt and ajwain seeds.
Tips/notes: 1) Add a tablespoon of rice flour in the Omapodi dough if you like. Rice flour gives extra crispiness. This step is optional. 2) If you like plain sev stop with step seven. 3) You can grind carom/ajwain seeds with chilli powder, salt and hing with some water and mix with dough.
