Ellu urundai is a healthy snack item prepared by black sesame seeds, groundnut, and jaggery syrup. This delicious sweet ball is very high in energy and rich in taste. Ellu urundai is a famous homemade sweet prepared as a simple kids snack and during the festival time as an offering to god. Ellu or sesame seeds are very good for healthy weight gain in underweight kids. For extra taste, I add roasted and powdered groundnuts to make the balls. The sweetness of this ellu urundai comes from the jaggery syrup which is healthier compared to the sugar syrup.
