French toast | Classic French toast recipe in 10 minutes

French toast, a delicious bread and egg breakfast with the sweet flavors of milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. French toast is a super quick bread recipe, made by whisking together eggs, milk, vanilla essence and cinnamon mixture, dip bread slices and toast in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients
  

Ingredients:

  • 6 bread slices (firm slices)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 Cup milk
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt (optional)

To toast:

  • 3 tsp butter or ghee

To garnish:

  • 2 tbsp honey and maple syrup

Preparation:

    How to make cinnamon powder:

    • In a pan, dry roast cinnamon sticks for 2 to 4 minutes without any oil or fat till you get a nice aroma.
    • Be careful not to burn it, roast in low flame.
    • Cool them down and grind in a mixer jar into a fine powder.
    • That's all, store in a tight container, use while making cakes, cookies, bread toast, and many other bakery preparations.

    Recipe:

    • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon powder, sugar, and vanilla essence.
    • You can use country eggs, brown sugar and skim milk for a healthy option.
    • Beat this egg mixture nicely. Add one Pinch of salt if you are using sweet bread. I did not use salt as I used sandwich bread, which had salt in it.
    • Heat and non-stick Tawa or dosa tawa, apply a teaspoon of butter or ghee. You can use any flavorless oil also.
    • Take the egg mixture in a flat bowl or plate.
    • Dunk or dip the bread into the egg mixture both the sides like egg absorbed by bread everywhere and place it in the greased tawa.
    • Toast the bottom side in medium temperature. After 2 minutes flip it to the other side.
    • Toast both the sides in medium temperature evenly and it will take just 3 to 4 minutes for one toast.
    • Finally, garnish the toasts as shown with honey or maple syrup lavishly.
    • Yippee!!!! Yum yum delicious, sweetie, tasty, easy, classic French toast ready in 10 mins for breakfast.

    Notes

    Tips/notes: 1. Do not avoid cinnamon powder. 2. Just double the quantity of ingredients while making large batches. 3. You can omit sugar If you are using sweet bread.
