Ingredients

Ingredients:

    Veggies used:

    • 200 grams paneer
    • 1 big onion
    • 1 small Capsicum
    • 1 large tomato

    To make tikka masala:

    • 1 cup thick curd
    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • ½ tsp amchoor powder or chat Masala
    • ½ tsp Garam Masala
    • ¾ tsp chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • ½ tsp pepper powder
    • 1 tsp kasturi methi
    • 1 tablespoon gram flour

    To fry:

    • 4 tbsp oil

    Instructions

    Preparation:

    • Cut paneer into medium size cubes.
    • Beat curd into soft smooth paste.
    • Chop onion, capsicum and tomato into square cubes.

    Recipe:

      Tikka marination:

      • In a big mixing bowl take soft beaten curd.
      • Add all the spice powders along with ginger garlic paste and Besan/gram flour.
      • Mix everything together without lumps. Tikka masala is ready.
      • Put all the diced veggies and paneer into the tikka masala and mix evenly. Use your fingers to mix properly.
      • Leave aside the marinated paneer and veggies for one to two hours.

      Tikka in skewer sticks/toothpick:

      • Insert marinated paneer, onion, tomato and capsicum pieces one by one in a random order.
      • If you don't have skewer sticks use toothpicks to make tikka.
      • Be careful while inserting as the marinated pieces would be very soft and tender.

      How to make paneer tikka:

      • Heat oil in a shallow fry pan. When oil is hot reduce the temperature to medium flame.
      • Place the stacked skewer sticks on the pan.
      • If you don't have skewer sticks or toothpicks just place the marinated pieces on the pan.
      • Roast the bottom side for two minutes.
      • Flip them and fry for two minutes.
      • Fry all the sides in the same way. Be careful not to burn the pieces.
      • Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.

      Notes

Tips: 1. Marinate at least for one hour soft paneer tikka. 2. Amchoor powder, chat masala and kasturi methi are optional. You can use only garam masala if you don’t have these. 3. Use only recommended quantity of besan else they may turn like bajjis.
