I used frozen green peas today as I didn’t have fresh peas. If you use fresh peas cook a little bit longer and make sure it is cooked well before adding the cabbage. Because cabbage tends to cook faster and lose its crispness very fast.

Always while cooking cabbage never pour lots of water and sprinkle just a few tablespoons of water only when required to retain the freshness and crispness.

Though both green cabbage and purple cabbage taste equally good my personal favorite is purple cabbage.

Cabbage has lots of health benefits such as:
  • First of all, Cabbage is a low-calorie vegetable that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants like Vitamin C & K, folate, manganese, Vitamin B6, Calcium and Potassium.
  • In addition, cabbage is rich in fiber which in turn yields healthy weight loss.
  • The major component vitamin C in cabbage is an important anti-oxidant and red cabbage is particularly loaded with extra vitamin C.
