This is a simple fruit salad recipe with a healthy dressing using mint and lemon juice. Fruit salad can be prepared in multiple ways using a variety of fruits and salad dressings. Today let me show you a refreshing simple fruit salad with easily available fruits and a tasty healthy dressing.

Fruit salad can be served as appetizers, desserts, or just as a wholesome breakfast salad.
Simple mixed fruit salad with a healthy dressing
When you are going through some amount of guilt because of having lots of Diwali sweets and snacks, which may contain harmful Sugars and salts and fats, I would like to present you with this handy, comfortable and healthy fruit salad. This fruit salad can be a healthy alternative to processed foods for breakfast or dinner while having a heavy feast during the day.
I used five kinds of fruits to make this salad. You can use any kind of mixed fruits including citrus, sweet and starchy fruits to make this salad. The dressing I use is so simple to prepare yet very healthy compared to sugary custard dressing.

Green apple: A green apple have high fiber content and helps to increase metabolism, low in fat, a rich source of vitamin a and c, high calcium content good for bones, fights against aging.
Red apple: The health benefits of red apple and green apple both are the same. however red apples contain slightly less fiber and high carbohydrates than green apples. But if you are looking for antioxidants then red apples win.
Orange: This citrus beauty has an abundant amount of health benefits which include a high content of Vitamin C, controlled blood sugar level, lowering cholesterol, for a healthy immune system and last but not the least prevents skin damage hence anti-aging property.
Pomegranate: The innumerable health benefits of this fruit include vitamins and minerals like folate, potassium, vitamin C and K, loads of fiber. Furthermore, pomegranate helps in cancer prevention, healthy heart, increased fertility, prevents arthritis and joint pain.
Banana: Bananas are a great dietary source of potassium and act as a powerhouse of nutrients. It helps in good heart health, high fiber content, easing up digestion, fights anemia and many more.
Mint leaves: Mint is a soothing and refreshing herb that helps wonderfully with an upset stomach. These aromatic leafy greens are helpful in treating asthma, relieving congestion, cure allergies, prevents respiratory disorders. Mint is an excellent skin cleanser, cures skin blemishes and helps to have a spotless skin tone.

Fruit salad | Simple Fruit salad with a healthy dressing
Ingredients
Ingredients:
Fruits used:
- 1 red apple
- 1 green apple
- 1 pomegranate
- 1 orange
- 1 large banana
For dressing:
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp amchur powder
- 1/2 tsp chat masala
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
Preparation:
- Wash and chop all the fruits into same bite-size pieces.
- Keep mint leaves washed and chopped.
Recipe to make healthy fruit salad:
- In a mixing bowl add all the chopped fruits one by one.
- Add sugar and honey a teaspoon each
- You can use extra if you like the salad sweeter.
- Now add a pinch of salt, a quarter teaspoon of amchur powder and a half teaspoon of chat masala.
- Put finely chopped mint leaves.
- A few drops of lemon juice for citrus addition. As I have used orange pieces in the salad I used lemon juice. If you are not using oranges for salad, then you can add orange juice also.
- Mix and toss everything together.
- That's it. Freshly dressed sweet and sour tasty fruit salad is ready to serve.

Notes:
- You can use any kind of fruit to make this salad. But try to include starchy fruits as well as citrus fruits like orange sweet lime, pineapple, melon, sapota, papaya, strawberries, or cherries extra.
- Always try to serve fruit salad freshly after preparation. Chopped fruits may become dark in appearance because of oxidation.
- Mint leaves give a burst of fragrance hence do not avoid them. Also, you can replace mint juice in place of mint leaves.
- Use a pinch of pepper powder for an extra boost of vitamin C.
- For kids add an extra tablespoon of honey before serving.
