Chocolate milk / Hot chocolate with milk and chocolates

This Chocolate milk recipe is extremely simple but delicious, hot milk mixed with melted sweet chocolate. Today I saw few chocolates were sitting in my fridge untouched. My kids almost forgot them. They had a hard day in school with lots of physical activity. So I decided to treat them with this quick delicious chocolate milk or Easy hot chocolate. I have to say they were surprised and enjoyed it to the core. You can serve this as cold chocolate milk as well after keeping it in the fridge for a while and enjoy it as a dessert on occasion. This is a simple flavored milk recipe without ice cream as in shakes.

This a quick and simple chocolate milk recipe which is an easy Hot chocolate version too. Serve this hot or chilled as an evening snack for kids. My kids became bored with eating the same variety daily:D…Then came this idea and it turned out a hit. Adults can also enjoy this as a cool dessert or yum breakfast once in a while. Chocolate milk prepared by mixing melted chocolates with boiled milk. This is a simple flavoured milk recipe without icecream like shakes.

Ingredients:

  • Dark/milk chocolates/Chocolate bars – 300 gm
  • Sugar – 3tbsp optional only for pure dark chocolates
  • Vanilla essence – 1/2ts optional
  • Milk – 4cups 800ml
  • Nuts – For garnishing

Instructions
 

Recipe:

  • Heat 100ml of boiled milk in a pan in low heat
  • Add chocolate chunks and mix with a wooden ladle
  • Chocolates start to melt.
  • Mix the melting chocolate with milk.
  • Pour this chocolate milk mix with remaining milk and keep on stove
  • Mix thoroughly in low heat
  • When it starts thickening switch off the flame.
  • Using a hand blender mix it very well. If using electric blender keep in low speed and blend till froth produced as shown here. I used hand mixer. At this stage if you are using bitter dark chocolates add sugar according to taste.
  • Sugar is not required for usual milk chocolates or sugar added dark chocolates.
  • Finally add few chopped nuts for garnishing
  • Quick Chocolate milk is ready to serve. If preferring cold milk keep in refrigerator for a while and serve.

Notes

Tips/notes: Choose chocolates without caramel for this recipe as it may alter the taste If chocolates are already with nuts no need to add final garnishing For pure hot chocolate melt more chocolates and add very little full fat reduced milk/cream

Chocolate milk( Hot or cold) with leftover chocolates

Preparation:

  • Boil milk and keep aside.
  • Chop chocolate bars into small pieces. Since I had small chocolates, I used them as it is.

Recipe:

  • Heat 100 ml of boiled milk in a pan on low heat

  • Chocolates start to melt. Mix the melted chocolate syrup slowly with the milk.

  • Next, quickly pour this chocolate milk mix with remaining milk and keep on the stove.

  • Mix thoroughly on low heat. When it starts thickening switch off the flame.

  • Using a hand blender mix it very well. If using electric blender keep in low speed and blend till a fluffy froth forms. I used a hand mixer. At this stage, if you are using bitter dark chocolates add sugar according to taste.

  • Finally, add few chopped nuts for garnishing. My chocolates had few nuts hence I did not use extra garnishing.
  • Quick Chocolate milk is ready to serve. If preferring cold chocolate milk keep in the refrigerator for a while and serve.

Tips/notes:
